Chase Card Services and Continental Airlines have partnered to launch the Continental Airlines OnePass Plus Card along with improvements to the existing Continental Airlines Presidential Plus Card. These new and improved products offer cardmembers a suite of unique travel benefits, premium customer service and more ways to earn and redeem Continental OnePass miles. The new OnePass Plus Card bundles the robust set of travel, service, protection and reward benefits offered on the former Continental Airlines World MasterCard with several new and relevant benefits for cardmembers to enjoy.

MasterCard Europe Unveils Next Generation Debit Card

MasterCard Europe has unveiled a next generation debit card – with the first roll-out of a new display payment card.  According to the company, “Turkish bank TEB, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, will be the first issuer to bring the display card to consumers with a Maestro® eCommerce authentication programme that kicks off in July across Turkey, with new features to be added onto the card in the near future. The UK’s Newcastle Building Society has also committed to the first pilot of the balance display functionality later this year.”

Insurance, credit card offers focus of direct mailings to consumers

Credit card offers and auto insurance are among the factors driving an increase in direct mailings from businesses, according to a recent report from Mintel Comperemedia.

From the fourth quarter of last year to the first quarter of 2010, direct mailings to consumers in the country were up 16 percent. Leading the pack were offers for insurance, which accounted for 43 percent of this market segment.

“The insurance and credit card industries still have room for growth as they expand their marketing efforts and, as the recovery gains momentum, we can once again anticipate growth in the mortgage and loans sector,” Mintel Comperemedia senior vice president Andrew Davidson said.

In all, offers through direct mail increased from 5.3 billion in the fourth quarter to 6.1 billion during the first, the firm said. Read article…
